2Timothy 1:7 . . . God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
We therefore know that if our minds are not “sound,” it is not God’s will. There is also the implication that fear could be at the root of any lack of power, love or soundness of mind that we might experience.
I awakened this morning enjoying the peace of God, which passeth all understanding and with the phrase peace multiplied being spoken by the still small voice inside. Night before last my husband and I arrived at the home of a dear friend with whom we’ve been in fellowship for over 35 years. She’s one of the very few people with whom I’ve felt I could be totally transparent as I’ve been on this spiritual journey. Though we lived in the same area for decades, I moved hundreds of miles away 15 years ago. Of course modern technology has enabled us to continue our relationship mostly from a distance, though we do see each other at least once or twice a year, sometimes for as long as three weeks. Yesterday a mutual friend, with whom we’ve both been transparent, called, and I had a very long and satisfying conversation with her where we were able to share the things that really mattered to us, not just engage in small talk.
I awakened this morning at 6:00 from a very vivid dream wherein I was most apprehensive about a play that I was about to perform in but for which I was not prepared. I didn’t know my lines at all. There is but one power in the universe —God Omnipotent (all-power). And that power is exercised through man, made in the image and likeness of God and given dominion (Genesis 1:26). There is no evil power independent of man which is opposing God and which God (or man) must overcome.
Last night I had the opportunity to prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God(Romans 12:2). And of course I did that by renewing my mind to the truth —rather than what appeared to be the truth (John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.).
Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
