In the beginning, God
(Genesis 1:1). Whatever God became conscious of came into visibility. That is what we call creation.
And it was very good
(Genesis 1:31). God became conscious of a universe unlike Himself inhabited by creatures unlike Himself, although begotten out of Himself. Then He became conscious of a being like Himself (in His image and likeness) which came into visibility and was also very good; and to that image (man) God gave dominion over all the rest of creation (Genesis 1:26).
Mental Knowledge vs Spiritual Revelation
We all want to know God, for
John 17:3 . . . this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
If I Perish, I Perish
If God is omnipotent (Almighty, all powerful), if with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26), if all things are possible to him that believes (Mark 9:23)—and if when we pray and believe, we have what we pray for (Mark 11:23-24), if God answers even before we call (Isaiah 65:24), if we are just to stand still and see the salvation of God (Exodus 14:13; 2Chronicles 20:17), then we must face some hard truths. We must admit that if any person, situation or illness can successfully stand against this God that we are believing in, that person, situation or illness is more powerful than God and therefore should be bowed down to and worshiped instead of the God we say we believe in. For that situation, person or illness has become our God.
The Kingdom of Heaven
We cannot even see
it until we are born again
–or passed from death unto life. (John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.)
Let This Mind Be in You
Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
In My Name
- John 14:13-14
- And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
One with God
Jesus prayed this prayer for us:
John 17:11-21 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. … That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
