In John 9 is the record of the healing of the man born blind, one of the many healings brought into manifestation by Jesus on the Sabbath. I say “brought into manifestation” rather than “performed by” since Jesus didn’t actually “heal” the man’s eyes. Jesus’ consciousness of the man’s true spiritual identity that cannot experience blindness and the man being “touched” by that consciousness is what caused the man to see.
A Sound Mind
May 20, 2017
Paul tells us that
2Timothy 1:7 . . . God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
We therefore know that if our minds are not “sound,” it is not God’s will. There is also the implication that fear could be at the root of any lack of power, love or soundness of mind that we might experience.
God Is Not Mocked
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
I awakened in the early morning hours hearing this Scripture being spoken inside, along with several insights connected to it. I’ve no doubt the Holy Spirit is speaking and that I am to start writing whatever I hear. Continue reading “God Is Not Mocked”
Go Within and See the Invisible
Please read the contemplations The Kingdom of God Is Within and Listening from Within when you read this one.
For some time now, since it was revealed to me that I was being motivated by my ego (see “Understanding”), I have been meditating on who I would be without my ego. There is a scene in a movie, “Peaceful Warrior,” where the main character is on the top of a tower contemplating suicide, and his ego asks him that question, “Who would you be without me?”
One Thing Have I Desired
Psalms 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
Magnify the Lord
Asking Amiss
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
I first really heard this Word many years ago when I was suffering from a skin disease. I would break out in clear blisters. There was no known cause when I first developed symptoms and sought treatment at age eighteen. But I was put on a medication (the same medication given for leprosy) which did relieve the symptoms. More than fifteen years later, scientists discovered that the disease was caused by the inability of my body to absorb gluten. Upon learning this, I immediately went on a gluten-free diet (no wheat, barley, rye or oats) so I could stop taking the medication. This was very difficult for me because I loved bread and pizza more than any other foods. I made both with potato and rice flours, but it wasn’t the same. Even though I was on the diet, it took a year and a half before I could get off the medicine.
Judge Not by Appearances
Last night I had the opportunity to prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
(Romans 12:2). And of course I did that by renewing my mind
to the truth —rather than what appeared
to be the truth (John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.).
Dare We Trust God for Our Physical Well-Being?
Note: This contemplation should be read after reading Belief in Two Powers and Should I See a Physician?
We all know that the Scriptures tell us that we were healed by the stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5; 1Peter 2:24) —though the translators substituted the word griefs
for diseases
in Isaiah 53:4: (KJVS) Surely he hath borne our griefs [Strong 2483: malady, anxiety, calamity: —disease, grief, (is) sick(-ness)]. And we are aware of the extraordinary promises concerning our health and well-being contained in Psalm 91, only one of which is no evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling
(v 10).

Should I See a Physician?

For many years I have not gone to a doctor, except for cataract surgery and dental work. As I looked around me, I saw everyone my age taking pills by the dozen, pills which I learned on television had the most awful possible side effects. Then I would hear of people going into the hospital for the most simple procedure and nearly dying of staph infection or some mistake made by medical personnel. I really wanted no part of it.
