My husband and I are visiting Bowling Green, Ohio, where we lived for over 30 years before moving away. Waldemar had expressed the desire to visit Amish country and buy some garlic knocks
to take home with us. He wanted to go home via our son’s house and have him make a bonfire to roast the knocks
as we had so often done when he was a child and we were camping. We had decided some days ago that we would go yesterday. But night before last we looked at weather.com and saw that the high temperature for the day was to be 56 degrees and that it was to be mostly cloudy
and 17mph winds. Since our reason for choosing this time of year for our visit was to see the autumn colors, it didn’t seem like a very good choice to go yesterday. We saw that Monday was supposed to be sunny
and 64 degrees; so we went to bed believing that we would go Monday.
One Thing Have I Desired
Psalms 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
God in Expression
God has not only shown me a parable of my attempts to relate to the law god (see Life Is a Parable); He has also given me a parable to show me what it looks like to relate to the true God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Life Is a Parable
Our everyday lives are parables wherein God speaks to us, as Jesus did to the people of His day.
What Do I See?
My consciousness is what I am aware of, what I see.
And that is precisely what I experience. I can have either a human consciousness or a God consciousness—coming either from the carnal mind (which is no mind at all, but rather false beliefs in good and evil and in separation from God) or the Christ mind (which everyone has but may not be aware of). In the Christ mind is the expectation of only that which is harmonious and wonderful. Paul calls it the fruit of the Spirit:
Who Am I?
I am the son of the living God (Romans 8:16; 1John 3:2). I am God’s offspring (Acts 17:28-29), born of His Word (1Peter 1:23). I am the original creation, in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26). I am (in my true identity) not a person (personality); I am Spirit (Ephesians 4:4-6), one with my Father (John 10:30; John 17:21). I have the mind of Christ (1Corinthians 2:16). I have been given dominion over all creation (Genesis 1:26).
Living in the Peace of God
Jesus said:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The Trinity that Is You
This is in no way meant to be a doctrinal treatise on the meaning of the trinity (which, by the way, is never mentioned in the Bible, just in theological literature about the Bible), but rather a way of looking at ourselves in relation to God. When not capitalized, the word trinity
means a group of three.
Decisions
When I make a decision based on the knowledge that my prayers are answered before I ask and that the Christ, the Son of the living God, is my true identity and that there is only one power which is good, it will always be the right
decision.
Thy Faith
Today I was asking God to reveal to me why I was unable to walk in faith and believe that there is only one power (God) which is good—and respond to appearances with righteous judgment rather than the thoughts of criticism, judgment and condemnation that I had experienced over the weekend.
