As I was reading the book of Joshua, I ran across the account of Joshua defeating the five kings of the Amorites because “the Lord fought for Israel” (10:14). Then Joshua did something very interesting. He had his military leaders put their feet upon the necks of those kings as a symbol of their victory over the enemy (v 24).
The Dream (Part 2)
Nighttime dreams can be seen as a parable which enables us to better understand the life
we seem to be living in this world
where, as Jesus said, we will have tribulation.
Since Jesus said that He had overcome the world, we know that it is not something that God created, but rather our false concept of the world created by God.
God in Expression
God has not only shown me a parable of my attempts to relate to the law god (see Life Is a Parable); He has also given me a parable to show me what it looks like to relate to the true God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Life Is a Parable
Our everyday lives are parables wherein God speaks to us, as Jesus did to the people of His day.
Not of Works
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
What Do I See?
My consciousness is what I am aware of, what I see.
And that is precisely what I experience. I can have either a human consciousness or a God consciousness—coming either from the carnal mind (which is no mind at all, but rather false beliefs in good and evil and in separation from God) or the Christ mind (which everyone has but may not be aware of). In the Christ mind is the expectation of only that which is harmonious and wonderful. Paul calls it the fruit of the Spirit:
“Think Not”–“Think On”: The Parable of the Sower
Today I heard the inner voice telling me to stop analyzing ANYTHING, that this constant over-thinking is robbing me of the peace Jesus has freely given. Jesus taught us to take no thought
about the things we think most about. As I am constantly listening to the still small voice of Spirit, I am to do and say what I FEEL to do and say as a result of what I’m hearing, not what I THINK I should do and say.

Magnify the Lord
The Trinity that Is You
This is in no way meant to be a doctrinal treatise on the meaning of the trinity (which, by the way, is never mentioned in the Bible, just in theological literature about the Bible), but rather a way of looking at ourselves in relation to God. When not capitalized, the word trinity
means a group of three.
Ten Righteous Men
Part 1
In Genesis 18-19 we read the account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (the home of Abraham’s nephew Lot and his family) and of Abraham’s plea with God that the cities be spared from what we have believed to be God’s wrath against their many sins, including homosexuality. We even hear preachers today denouncing cities like New Orleans and Las Vegas, saying that hurricane Katrina was God’s wrath against the people of New Orleans. I’ve heard more than one minister make statements like this one: If God doesn’t punish America [or a specific city in America], He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.
